Won Illinois PTA Reflections Film Production Contest. Produced three documentary films that advanced to national level and one film that won a bronze medal.

“Sanctuary” (2015) – Filmed a spider monkey rescue station and went into the enclosure to feed them. Trekked through a Mayan spider and howler monkey sanctuary near Coba, Mexico. Met with Mayan people who maintain their indigenous culture in the reserve. Visited scientists and swam with endangered green sea turtles at the Centro Ecologico in Akumal, Mexico.

“China Diaries” (2016) – Filmed a documentary about my adoption heritage tour to China. Recorded trip events, interviewed other adoptees, and told the story of my adoption. Won Award of Merit (bronze medal) at the national level. Film is being shown at the Department of Education, Washington D.C. and in a touring exhibit.
